“ALL YOU NEED IS KILL” animated by STUDIO4℃, teaser trailer released – Sci-fi light novel turned Hollywood movie

It has been decided that the light novel “ALL YOU NEED IS KILL” by Sakurazaka Hiroshi will be made into an anime by STUDIO4℃, known for “Tekkonkinkreet” and “Gyokou no Nikuko-chan”. A teaser visual and a special PV have also been released.
The original novel is a science fiction work (published by Shueisha), known for being made into a Hollywood movie starring Tom Cruise in 2014 (Japanese title: “All You Need Is Kill”). After an extraterrestrial invasion, Rita is caught in a time loop where she dies and returns to the morning of the same day, and her heart is corroded by the endless battle. She has a fateful encounter with Keiji, a man who is also repeating the time leap.
The new anime version will focus on the inner thoughts of Rita, one of the characters, and will reconstruct the story from a new perspective different from the original novel and the Hollywood movie version.
The film will be directed by Kenichiro Akimoto, who served as CGI director for STUDIO4℃’s “Children of the Sea.” The full comment from Director Akimoto is below.

In adapting this work, which has already been made into a manga and a Hollywood movie, I hope to further enhance the value of this work with STUDIO4℃’s unique visual expression. I also hope that viewers will find a little hope for life in the midst of their repetitive daily lives.
