“Gachiakuta” to start airing in July; Aoi Ichikawa, Katsuyuki Konishi, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, and Yumiri Hanamori appear and teaser PV announced

The TV anime “Gachiakuta” will start broadcasting in July on the “Agaru Anime” slot (Sundays at 11:30pm) on 28 CBC/TBS affiliated stations nationwide, and it has been revealed that Ichikawa Ao, Konishi Katsuyuki, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, and Hanamori Yumiri will appear in the show. A teaser PV has also been released.

The original work, which has been serialized in “Weekly Shonen Magazine” (published by Kodansha) since 2022 by Urana Kei (original author) and Ando Hideyoshi (graffiti design), is a battle action manga that won the Global Special Award in the comics category of the “Next Manga Awards 2022”. It depicts the story of Rudo, an orphan boy born in a slum where the descendants of criminals live, who stands up against common sense, power, discrimination, and prejudice in order to change the absurd world. 13 volumes have been published so far. For the TV anime, animation will be produced by Bones Film, the studio behind “My Hero Academia” and “Bungo Stray Dogs”.

Ichikawa will play the role of Rudo, a boy from the discriminated “Zokumin” class who makes a living by picking up trash in “Heaven”. The other cast members will play members of “Acta”, a cleaning team that fights against “Madouju”, monsters born from trash, using “human vessels” that are created when thoughts reside in objects that have been treated with care. Konishi will play Engine, who recognizes Rudo’s talent as a “giver” who uses human vessels and scouts him for the team, Matsuoka will play Zanka, Rudo’s instructor, and Hanamori will play Ryo, who is usually cheerful and playful but fights rationally. It has also been decided that Taku Iwasaki from “Bungo Stray Dogs” will be in charge of the music.

The teaser PV, which is the first anime footage to be released, depicts Rudo, who was framed for a crime and cast into the abyss, transforming his anger into fighting spirit and rising to his feet. Battle scenes with Engine, Zanka, and Ryo are also included with voice.

Gachiakuta Anime Series Teaser PV/Set for Release in July 2025

A stage event for the series will be held on the BLUE Stage at AnimeJapan 2025, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight, from 2:20 pm on March 22nd. Ichikawa, Konishi, Matsuoka, and Hanamori will take to the stage to reveal behind-the-scenes details about the recording. The stage event will be streamed on ABEMA.

[Ichikawa Ao (voice of Rudo)]

When I read the original manga, I remember being immediately drawn in by the power of the character’s eyes. Ludo is a boy whose outbursts of anger are so intense that if you let your guard down, you might be thrown off. I will do my best to portray him in a way that clearly conveys his bubbling anger.

[Konishi Katsuyuki (Engine)]

I’m super excited that “Gachiakuta” is being made into an anime! And thankfully, I’ve been given the opportunity to play the role of Engine! I can’t wait for everyone to watch it! It’s my favorite manga! Thank you!!

[Matsuoka Yoshitsugu (Zanka)]

This time, I will be playing an interesting guy named Zanka. Many people may have the impression that he is blunt and has a difficult personality, making him hard to approach, but he is actually a surprisingly caring guy, so I hope you will enjoy this contrast!
