“I Want to Eat Me, Monster” to start airing in October; Yui Ishikawa and Fairouz Ai to appear, and the first PV announced

It has been decided that the TV anime adaptation of Naekawa Sai’s manga “I Want to Eat Me, A Human Being” will start airing in October, and it has been revealed that Ishikawa Yui and Fairouz Ai will appear. The first PV has also been released.

The original work, which is currently being serialized in “Dengeki Maoh” (KADOKAWA) and the manga site “Kadocomi WEB”, depicts the daily life of Yaotose Hinako (voiced by Ueda Reina), a girl who wishes to die, and Oumi Shiori, a mermaid who transfers to the school Hinako attends in order to protect her from monsters for some reason. Nine volumes of the book have already been published.

Ishikawa plays the role of Shiori, a mermaid who sets her sights on Hinako, whose flesh and blood is extremely delicious to youkai, and declares that she will protect her until she is ripe for eating. Fairouz Ai plays Yashiro Miko, a kind-hearted childhood friend who is always concerned about Hinako. Visuals of the anime version depicting Hinako, Shiori, and Miko in their uniforms have also been released.

The first PV introduces Hinako, Shiori, and Miku. It includes scenes of everyday life at school and an action scene in which a monster attacks Hinako.

At AnimeJapan 2025, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight on March 22nd and 23rd, it has been decided that the series will be exhibited and sold at the Infinite booth. In addition to exhibiting original illustrations, costumes that recreate the world of the series, and life-size panels of the character visuals announced this time, goods using original illustrations drawn by Naekawa will be sold. Novelty items will also be distributed.
