The TV anime adaptation of Iwatobi Neko’s romantic comedy manga, “Invisible Man And Human Woman: The Two Who Will Become Husband And Wife,” will begin airing in 2026, and it has been revealed that Azakami Yohei will play the protagonist, Tounome Akira, and Nukui Yuuka will play the heroine, Yakou Shizuka. The main staff has also been announced, and a teaser PV has been released.

The original work, which has been serialized on Futabasha’s web comic site “Web Action” since 2021, depicts the attraction between Akira, an invisible man, and Shizuka, a blind human woman.

Torunogan, played by Azagami, is a detective at the “Torunogan Detective Agency” and is a non-human being who can make not only his appearance but also the clothes he wears invisible. He has a gentlemanly personality and is attracted to Yoka, who finds him even when he disappears. Yoka, who is looked after by Nukui, is a human woman who cannot see but has a keen sense of hearing, smell, and touch. She is a beginner in love and is flustered by Torunogan’s approach. Visuals of Azagami and Nukui in poses that follow the worldview of the work have also been released.

The director and series writer is Seta Mitsuho of “High School Girl and Magical Notebook,” and the character designer is Unabara Kairi. Animation production is handled by Project No.9 of “Weak Character Tomozaki-kun.”
The teaser PV debuts the voices of Tounogan and Yoka. Set in a detective agency, the content gives a glimpse of how the two characters gradually deepen their bond. A birthday voice video for Tounogan was also released on the anime’s official TikTok account, allowing viewers to enjoy the world of the series ahead of the main broadcast. Videos of other characters will also be released from time to time.

My name is Azakami Yohei and I play the role of Akira Tounogan. Actually, this is my second time playing this role… Previously, there was a project on a TV show where we did voiceovers for manga frames, and coincidentally the subject was “The Invisible Man and the Human Woman.” That was when I first came into contact with the original work, and although I only had a few lines, I was able to play Akira Tounogan. I was fascinated by the warm and gentle atmosphere of the work and thought, “I hope that one day it will be animated and I will be able to play Akira Tounogan,” and I was honored to be entrusted with the role, and I felt it was fate. Personally, I value “what can be felt” more than “what can be seen,” and I am approaching the dubbing with this work. I would be happy if the warmth that is conveyed can reach everyone through the work, even if only a little. Thank you in advance.
[Nukui Yuka (role of Yoka Shizuka)]
I am Nukui Yuzuka, who will be voicing Shizuka Yoka. This is a work I have always loved…! I definitely wanted to play the role, so I auditioned. I am really happy… and honored. Yoka is a pure, playful, and sulky woman who tends to be a little delusional because she has never been in love before… a very lovable woman. The recording method for this work is “pre-scoring,” where the video is made after the audio is recorded. So, together with all the cast members, I was able to feel the distance between our hearts, the atmosphere, and things that are “invisible” to the eye more thoroughly, and I was able to face them with great fun and excitement. I want you to “feel” the heart-warming love between Tounogan and Yoka, the fun times they spend with everyone at the detective agency, and the world that surrounds them to the fullest!
