To commemorate the first anniversary of the TV anime Mission: Yozakura Family, a special program titled “Mission: Yozakura Family First Anniversary Special ~ Yozakura Family Gathering ~“ will be streamed online.
Based on the spy-family comedy manga by Gonbe Hitsuji, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha), the series follows high school student Taiyo Asano (voiced by Reiji Kawashima), who loses his family in an accident. To protect his only childhood friend, Mutsumi Yozakura (Kaede Hondo)—the head of a long-standing spy family—he marries into the Yozakura family. Together, they face Mutsumi’s overprotective brother Kyoichiro (Katsuyuki Konishi) and a series of deadly threats.
Season 1 aired from April to October 2024, with Season 2 slated for release in 2026.
The anniversary special will be streamed on the NBCUniversal Anime/Music Channel (YouTube) and ABEMAstarting at 12:00 PM on April 29. The full cast, including Reiji Kawashima, Kaede Hondo, Katsuyuki Konishi, Akari Kito (Nisou Yozakura), Kazuyuki Okitsu (Shinzo Yozakura), Aoi Yuki (Shion Yozakura), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Goliath/Ikengo Yozakura), and Yumi Uchiyama (Nana Yozakura), will gather to celebrate the occasion.
Additionally, all 27 episodes of the first season will be available to stream for free on ABEMA from April 29 (12:00 PM) to May 6 for a limited time.
