The first main promotional video and main visual for the TV anime “Kamitsubaki City Under Construction” have been released, and it has been announced that the anime will be broadcast on 28 TBS affiliated stations from July 3rd. The announcement was made on the special stage of “AnimeJapan 2025” held on March 22nd, and information on the characters played by the additional cast members, including Sakura Ayane, whose appearance was recently announced, was also released.
The theatrical pre-release version “Kamitsubaki City Under Construction. Witchling” has also been decided, and will be screened for two weeks only from June 13th.
The original work is an original IP project linked to the worldview of artists belonging to the indie label “KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO”, which includes virtual YouTubers, Vocaloid producers, illustrators, etc. The story depicts the hidden mysteries of the virtual city “Kamitsubaki City” and the restoration of order and peace in the city. Various content is being developed, such as the puzzle-solving event “Kamitsubaki City Under Construction. EMERGENCE” and the tabletop RPG “Kamitsubaki City Under Construction. NARRATIVE”, and a game adaptation is also planned.
The TV anime version is set in a world where human civilization has been devastated by a major disaster, and Kamitsubaki City, a research and educational city of advanced science, is miraculously recovering, but “Tesseracters”, monsters born from human malice and desire, are causing strange phenomena in the city. In the devastated Kamitsubaki City, five girls known as “Witch’s Daughters” fight against the Tesseracters with their magical singing voices as their weapon, and defy fate.
Sakura, Tomita Miyu, Azakami Yohei, Umeda Shuichiro, and Todo Mai play the members of “Familia”, who have both the form of a Tesseracter and a human and who challenge the threat of Kamitsubaki City with the Witch’s Daughters. Visuals of each character in their human and monster forms have been released, with Raplas (Sakura) possessing the ability to increase speed, Hasuta (Tomita) possessing the ability to create duplicates of himself, Aguni (Azagami) possessing the ability to control heat, Anemosu (Umeda) possessing the ability to control poison, and Kugel (Todo) possessing the ability to control lightning. Additionally, the Chief of the Reconstruction Division, played by Ito Shizuka, is the head of the administrative organization “Reconstruction Division” of Kamitsubaki City, and is a living AI created for the reconstruction and defense of the city. Additionally, the profiles of the five witches’ daughters, including Kaho, have also been released.

The first main PV shows the witch girls Kaho and the others facing the threat of the Tesseracter while each of them is struggling with their own inner conflicts.
The main visual features the catchphrase “–Resist fate–” along with the “familia” such as Raplas and Hasuta, along with the witch girls Kaho, Tanigan, Haryu, Sekai, and Kokoro.
In addition, it has been decided that the official anime novelization “Kamitsubaki City Under Construction. NOVELIZED” by Tsukishima Soki and Fugayuku will be released on May 23rd from “MF Bunko J” (published by KADOKAWA/Media Factory).

[Sakura Ayane (role of Raplas)]
You can see Kafu’s character in action in the animation. It’s a future I’d imagined at some point, but seeing it come to fruition is extremely moving. In the anime, I spent a huge amount of time with Kafu as Raplus. There were many happy and difficult times, but I still grew to love Kafu and everyone more and more. Please enjoy the way the witches’ daughters live their lives and the cries of their souls. I was happy to be entrusted with the voice of Raplus.
[Tomita Miyu (role of Hasuta)]
My name is Tomita Miyu and I will be playing Hasuta. Hasuta has a foul mouth, cheeky and sarcastic side, but he also has a cute side to him that he cannot be honest with, and he seems to have a brother-sister relationship with Tanigane. I think what makes him a charming character is that he has a cute side to him that cannot be honest with himself. The main story has a series of serious developments that can be nerve-wracking to watch, but the powerful visuals and fascinating music make it a work that you can fully enjoy, so I hope you will look forward to watching it!

My name is Azakami Yohei and I will be playing the role of Aguni. I was fortunate to be asked to do this role suddenly, so when I saw the title “XX Under Construction” appear on the schedule one day, I mistakenly thought it might be a narration for a company, lol. Later, the director and staff explained the project to me in detail, and I was determined to put my all into it. I hope I was able to bring out the charm of Aguni. Thank you!

After I was asked to appear in the show, I learned more about the show and the activities of the V.W.P members, and I became a fan myself.
