Travis Japan’s new song “Would You Like One?” has been chosen as the theme song for the animated film “Tabekko Animals THE MOVIE,” and the official trailer featuring the song has been released. The official visual was also unveiled.
The film tells the story of the characters depicted on the packaging of Ginbis’ biscuit snack “Tabekko Animals.” Genta Matsuda of Travis Japan voices Lion-kun, Koji Mizukami plays Elephant-kun, and Akari Takaishi plays Pegasus-chan.
In Sweets Land, where candy and humans live together in harmony, the singing and dancing super idol “Tabekko Animals” is very popular, but Pegasus-chan is captured by the “Cotton Candy Army” who are trying to take over the world. Without weapons, without a plan, and without any courage, the Tabekko Animals embark on a rescue mission for their precious friends.

The trailer begins with a scene of cotton candy appearing in large quantities in Sweets Land, the setting of the story. As King Gotton (Otsuka Yoshitada), who plans to eliminate all sweets except cotton candy and take over the world, spreads his evil hand all over the world, the Tabekko Animals are chased by the Cotton Candy Army. Pegasus-chan (Takaishi) is captured by the Cotton Candy Army.
The cute Tabekko Animals, who are only cute but have zero fighting power, fall out with each other, begging Professor McCarron (Otsuka Akio) while exuding cuteness, “Please!” However, Kaion-kun (Matsuda), who is hesitant to take on the impossible rescue mission, stands up when prompted by the words of Elephant-kun (Mizukami).
The video shows the super idol Tabekko Animals posing at a huge live venue to the theme song “Would You Like One?” inspired by the movie, as well as Crocodile (Tachiki Fumihiko) and Chick (Mamiya Kurumi) dashing through the city on a motorbike. Also noteworthy is Monkey (Fujimori Shingo) who gets crushed in the middle of the chaos.
Travis Japan’s Miyachika Kaito commented on his first movie theme song, “I’m really happy that Travis Japan can do a theme song for a work in which Genta voices the main character! I think it’s a new challenge for the movie, but I hope we can get on board and reach a lot of people.”
Matsukura Kaito spoke about the appeal of the theme song, saying, “The song starts with the lyrics ‘Itadakimasu’ (thank you for the meal), and there’s also a choreography where Genta eats Tabekko Animals. I think it’s a song that contains the feelings of Tabekko Animals.”
Shichigosankake Ryuya said, “It’s a song that makes you super happy. It has a fast beat, so you can naturally get into it. Personally, the lyrics in the chorus, ‘Let’s dance even in the biggest pinch we’ve ever been in,’ overlap with Travis Japan. We also dance when we’re in a pinch, so I think it’s fun to see how Morion-kun and the others get through the pinch in the movie.” On the other hand, Yoshizawa Shizuya said, “(The Tabekko Animal snacks) are something we always have in our homes. Even now as adults, they’re snacks that we still want to eat, so I think they’re great for snacks. There are so many varieties, they’re fun, and I really like them.” Nakamura Kaito commented on the catchy dance, saying, “I think Lion-kun could do the tail dance, too. There are animal elements in various places, and it’s a very impressive dance.” Matsuda, who played the role of Lion-kun, said, “The Tabekko Animals are global super idols. These idols try to save the world using their cuteness as a weapon. They’re cute even when they seem helpless, and the movie is filled with lots of unexpected events, laughter, emotion, and a few tears. It’s a heart-warming movie that can be enjoyed by all generations, so be sure to check it out!”
“Tabekko Animals THE MOVIE” will be released nationwide on May 1st.
