SANDA Anime Airs October 3 with Top Cast

It has been decided that the TV anime “SANDA” will start broadcasting on October 3rd, and it has been revealed that Umeka Shoji, Anna Nagase, Yuki Shin, and Misato Matsuoka will appear. The second teaser PV has also been released.

The original is an action manga serialized in “Shonen Champion” (published by Akita Shoten) from 2021 to 2024 by Itagaki Paru, known for “BEASTARS”. Set in Japan, where the number of children has drastically decreased, the story follows a boy named Mita Kazushige (CV: Murase Ayumu), who is descended from Santa Claus, as he transforms into Santa Claus (Tochi Hiroki), a creature thought to be extinct, and struggles to make children’s wishes come true. The series will be compiled into 16 volumes.

Shoji plays Fuyumura Shiori, a classmate at Daikoku Aigo Gakuen where Mita is enrolled, who plots the revival of Santa Claus in order to find her best friend who suddenly went missing. Nagase plays Ono Kazue, who Fuyumura is searching for, Arata plays Amaya Isshi, Mita’s roommate who knows the secret of Santa Claus, and Matsuoka plays Kazeo Erko, Mita’s fiancee appointed by the government, a realist who wants to avoid doing anything dangerous or that will get him in trouble now in order to become a “sensible adult.”

The second teaser PV focuses on Mita and his classmates who spend their school life with him at Daikoku Protection Academy, where rare children are strictly managed. You can also hear the voices of each character.

It has also been decided that the series will participate in Anime Expo 2025, the largest anime event in the United States, which will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. On July 4th, a panel event will be held with Itagaki, Director Tomohisa Shimoyama, and Science SARU producer Kohei Sakita, who is in charge of animation production, as well as a live drawing by Itagaki, and the world premiere of the first episode of the main story.

“SANDA” will start on the late-night anime slot “Animeism” and other channels at 1:53 a.m. on MBS, TBS, and CBC, and at 2:30 a.m. on BS-TBS. The full comments from the cast are as follows.

Ono was a role that was a “challenge” for me. I was very worried about the role, but I always felt anxious and suffocated in my heart. I would be happy if this feeling was reflected in Ono’s feelings.

– This film is an action movie in which Santa Claus plays an active role, but is there anything you would like to ask Santa Claus for?

When I was a child, I only received presents, so this time I would like to give him something as a present. How about helping him? Like riding a sleigh around town with Santa and delivering presents! Sounds fun. Please look forward to the broadcast!

– Please tell us how you felt when you were chosen to play the role of Amamiya in “SANDA” and give a message to those who are looking forward to the film.

I am very happy to be able to play Amamiya in “SANDA” this time. I had fun playing the role so that I could convey his mysteriousness in an attractive way. I think this film will make you think about what it means to be an adult. It’s a wonderful film, so please watch it!

When I first met Erhu, I was very fascinated by her, who was not bound by anything. Maybe she is someone who knows the preciousness of the present. I am really happy to be able to play such a girl!
