Synopsis

The time is the Taisho era—a time filled with the scent of romance, where people’s hearts still express compassion. Unzen, Sukayu, Ubuka, Oshamanbe, and Aso are ordinary (?) male students at Binan High School. They spend their days lazing around in the clubroom of the “Do Nothing Club,” the Earth Defense Club, while living together in the Kurodama dormitory. One day, while the five are taking a morning bath at Kurodama, they notice something slimy and moving in the bathtub. They finally manage to catch it, only to discover that it is a talking Pallas’s cat named Nuru! Nuru claims to have come from the distant future with a crucial mission: to inform them that Earth is facing imminent destruction. While he claims to want to protect the Earth, he claims he has only come to warn them of the crisis and that it is up to the five of them to decide whether to fight for it. Isn’t this an attempt to shirk responsibility…? The Defense Club members are suspicious. “If it doesn’t matter, I’ll do it! It’s more sophisticated!” Unzen enthusiastically retorts, “I’ll do it! It’s more sophisticated!” With their free spirits, the five decide to fight on their own, and Nuru uses cat science to transform them into the High Color Romantic Group. Meanwhile, a mysterious trio, the Bankara New Elite Squad, are secretly scheming to take over the Earth. Music
