“Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten” first key visual released, Homura’s magical girl look revealed for the first time

The first key visual for the animated film “Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten” was unveiled at the Puella Magi Madoka Magica booth at AnimeJapan 2025. The visual features Kaname Madoka and Akemi Homura paired together, and this is the first time Homura has been seen in her magical girl form.
“Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten” is the official sequel to “Rebellion: New Edition,” which was released in 2013. The original staff from the TV series, including general director Akiyuki Shinbo, screenwriter Gen Urobuchi, character designer Ume Aoki, and music composer Yuki Kajiura, will be reuniting, and Shaft will continue to be in charge of animation production. It is scheduled to be released in winter 2025.
