Crayon Shin-chan achieves great success in India, along with substitute speakers.

Crayon Shin-chan, currently starring in the film “Crayon Shin-chan: The Scorching Kasukabe Dancers,” achieved the remarkable feat of winning two awards at the ANN Awards 2025, held in Mumbai, India on August 22nd.
The ANN Awards, now in its sixth year, is one of India’s largest animation awards. Held as part of the Anime India/Animation & More Summit (August 22nd-24th), the awards will open to entries from across Asia from 2025, drawing attention as an international stage for the awards.

“Crayon Shin-chan: Our Dinosaur Diary,” released in Japan last summer and in India this May, won the “Best International Animated Feature Film” award. The film received high praise for its animation, direction, design, and storytelling, and was recognized for its role in bringing dreams and adventure to Indian children.
Shin-chan won the Best Licensed Character Award in the International Category.

The Crayon Shin-chan character also won the “Best Animated Licensed Character” award. The film debuted in India in May and was a huge success as a Japanese animated film. It was also highly praised for its overwhelming popularity and recognition, thanks to its diverse reach across television, film, and licensing tie-ups, as well as its potential for future IP development.

In addition, “Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: The Splendid! Burning Kasukabe Dancers” will be released in theaters in India, where the story is set, starting September 26th, and will be released nationwide, primarily in dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. A new version of the popular song “I’m Popular” from the film will also be released in three Indian languages, and tie-up projects with Japanese and Indian companies are also underway.
The “Crayon Shin-chan” anime series has been a beloved hit in India for 19 years, airing seven days a week locally.
