Synopsis
In this city, where dreams come true. Set in early 20th-century Paris, two young girls from Japan live there. One, Fujiko, dreams of becoming a painter, though she hopes to become a supportive wife. The other, Chizuru, is born into a samurai family and is a master of the naginata, but is drawn to ballet. When Fujiko gets into trouble, Chizuru rescues her, and the two are reunited for the first time in five years. Knowing Chizuru’s dreams, Fujiko discovers that Olga, the mother of Ruslan, a young man living in the same apartment, is a former ballerina from Russia, and asks her for lessons. Meanwhile, Fujiko’s uncle, who is her guardian, disappears one day. Will Fujiko and Chizuru be able to realize their dreams?
