Synopsis: Their final summer. Friends. And monsters. In the summer of 1989, sixth-graders Boko, Joe, and Junichi were on their final summer vacation as elementary school students. Each of them felt vague anxiety about their future. Then, Brody, the son of the commander of the U.S. military in Japan, appeared before the three. Brody stole the cash the three had saved up. Enraged, Boko and his friends devised a plan to get the money back. Just as they were about to put their plan into action, a crisis struck the town. The monster Gyaos suddenly attacked Tokyo. The four stood frozen in the ruins left by Gyaos. Just as Gyaos set its sights on them, a giant monster appeared. Its name was Gamera. This marked the beginning of the four boys’ “Monster Summer.” One after another, monsters appeared. Gamera fought despite his injuries. And so the boys witnessed a legend. Music
