“Yukikaze” is a fictionalized portrayal of the heroic battles of the destroyer Yukikaze, which fought on the front lines 80 years ago. While its sister ships were heavily damaged and burning, the Yukikaze displayed an almost invulnerable fighting spirit, eventually earning it the nickname “the lucky ship.” Of the 38 main Class A destroyers, the Yukikaze was the only one to emerge from the war virtually unscathed. Yutaka Takenouchi plays Yukikaze’s Captain Kazutoshi Terazawa, Hiroshi Tamaki plays Senior Corporal Hayase Kohei, and Daiken Okudaira plays the young torpedo officer Inoue.

“Yamato Forever: REBEL 3199 Chapter 4: The Light Blue Maiden” is the latest installment in the remake series of the classic anime “Space Battleship Yamato.” It reinterprets elements from the third theatrical film, “Yamato Forever,” released in 1980, and reconstructs them into a 26-episode series. In the year 2207, the mysterious force Desarium, which the Space Battleship Yamato once encountered, attacks Earth. As their shocking true identities are revealed, the reborn Space Battleship Yamato must face the threat.
The collaborative visuals were created by illustrator Naoyuki Kato. They feature the destroyer Yukikaze and Captain Terazawa, played by Takenouchi, from “Yamato Forever: REBEL 3199,” as well as the Space Battleship Yamato and its protagonist, Susumu Kodai, from “Yamato Forever: REBEL 3199.”
Yukikaze, which survived the battlefield 80 years ago, and Space Battleship Yamato, which conquers the vast universe more than 170 years in the future. The tagline, which expresses the themes entrusted to each battleship, past and future, was created by Harutoshi Fukui, who worked on both films as a staff member. A real poster of “YUKIKAZE” will be displayed at MOVIX Hiroshima Station on the release date of “YUKIKAZE.”
