This work is a TV anime adaptation of the novel by Ukai Yushi, currently published by MF Bunko J (KADOKAWA). Centering on Yuuki (player name), a “professional killer gamer,” the story follows those who throw themselves into a killing game where death is always close at hand in exchange for a cash prize if they survive. The TV anime version is directed by Ueno Sota (“Stepsister Life”), with series composition by Ikeda Rintaro (“The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods”). A comic book adaptation by Banzaiju Daienkai is currently being serialized in “Monthly Comp Ace.”

The Ultra Teaser PV features a ghost walking through a mansion, along with five girls who appear to be playing the game alongside her. Along with the tagline, “This is a story from a certain crazy world,” the Ultra Teaser visual depicts the ghost, also referred to as a “ghost woman” due to her pale skin, long hair, and blue eyes.

TV Anime “Game of Death: Eat a Dinner.” Ultra Teaser PV | Broadcast and Streaming Begins January 2026

Additional staff members have also been announced, including music by Junichi Matsumoto of “Plunderer” and concept art by hewa.

“Game of Death: Eat a Dinner.” will begin broadcasting and streaming in January 2026. Full comments from Miura, Director Ueno, and other staff members are below.

[Chiyuki Miura (Wraith)]

My name is Miura Chiyuki, and I’ll be playing the role of Yuuki. I was very happy when I was cast. However, life in this world is so fleeting… I was excited to see how it would be portrayed in the anime. I hope you’ll watch to see how Yuuki feels and how she lives in the brutal world of Game of Death. I will do my best to act.

[Ueno Sota (Director)] I created this film as if praying, so that their light will continue to burn forever and ever. I created it as if loving, so that it will continue to burn yesterday, today, tomorrow, forever and ever.

[Ikeda Rintaro (Series Composition)] This film is a so-called “death game” story, in which girls trade lives in front of an invisible audience, but when I read the original work, I felt there was something more to it. What exactly was that? I thought about it the whole time I finished writing the script. I hope you can sense the breathing of these girls living in this crazy world.

[hewa (Concept Art)] I’m hewa, and I was in charge of the concept art. This was my first time working on concept art for an anime, so when I was first approached, I was very nervous about whether I could do it. However, after numerous meetings with Director Ueno and the staff, I gradually took the time to bring the worldview of the original work to life. I hope that everyone can experience this unique and dangerous worldview.

[Junichi Matsumoto (Music)] I’m Junichi Matsumoto, in charge of the music for this film. Thank you all for your support. The director told me that he wanted to create a work that would affirm the girls in the story in a broad sense. I will do my best to respond to the depths of the work and characters, and the spirit of the production team, through my music, and will support them along the way! Each character’s story, emerging from a world of life and death, breathes life into the music. I hope you enjoy both the work and the music itself.

[Noriyoshi Konuma (Sound Director)] I am the sound director. As I interpreted the work and considered the characters’ motivations and thoughts, I was reminded of many things. I thought about what my theme should be for this work and what it means for them to live. There are many things I could talk about, but I would really like you to watch it. And nothing makes me happier than that. My theme has been decided, but I’ll tell you about it sometime in the final episode…

A Deadly Game Begins: “I Make a Living Playing Game of Death”

The announcement of the anime “Ghost,” led by the rising voice actress Chiyuki Miura, brings a fresh wave of suspense and psychological intensity to the anime scene. The haunting phrase, “I make a living playing Game of Death,” not only sets a chilling tone but hints at a world where survival hinges on wit and willpower. The ultra teaser PV gives us just enough of a taste—eerie visuals, high-stakes tension, and a character who seems to embrace danger rather than fear it. Could this be a spiritual successor to shows like Kaiji or Darwin’s Game? With Miura’s sharp delivery and the cryptic atmosphere, Ghost could become one of the standout thrillers of the season.
