The original work by Yui Tamura is a romantic comedy manga currently being serialized in Kodansha’s webcomic magazine “Comic DAYS.” It follows the story of worrisome class representative Kiyoko Yoshida (voiced by Yuka Nukui) and unlucky boy Tsuyoshi Yano (voiced by Kohei Amasaki), who dreams of a normal high school life but always comes to school covered in injuries. Surrounded by their quirky friends, the two gradually grow closer. Ten volumes of the manga have been published.

FANTASTICS, the dance and vocal group that sings the opening theme song “POP LIFE,” is the group of Yusei Yagi, who played Yano in the live-action film released in 2012. Following the theme song for the live-action version, “Yellow Yellow,” they will now perform the theme song for the anime version.
The first promotional video features a preview of the track “FANTASTICS.” The key visual captures a casual scene of Kiyoko and Yano walking home after school with the four newly announced cast members.

[Tanezaki Atsumi (role of Mei)]

Setting aside the sharp things that happen to Yano-kun… I think this is a very rounded and gentle work with a unique atmosphere that can only be found in this series. Personally, every dubbing session is a heartwarming fest. Yano’s best friend Kiyoko, who worries about him, is just as hard to take your eyes off of as Yano. Before you know it, you’re “naturally watching over him.” I can’t wait for everyone to experience this feeling…!
[Baka Yasuto (role of Hashiba)]

I will be playing Hashiba, a clumsy but caring and kind-hearted sportsman. After developing certain feelings for Yoshida, he becomes involved with Yano and the others. The atmosphere of this work, from the choice of words to the expressions of the characters, is very delicate, warm, and “kind.” I’m sure that once you watch the anime, you’ll want to watch over Yano just like Yoshida. Please look forward to this heartwarming, bittersweet youth love story!
[Takahashi Rie (Izumi)]

I’m so happy to be able to take part in Yano and his teammates’ worldview! It’s a work that will make you smile, and when you feel a bit gloomy, it will make you feel warm and fuzzy. Before you know it, you’ll feel like you’re a part of the cast. I want to take Izumi’s mind and interact with them in a bright and fun way! Let’s have a youthful time!
[Iwasaki Ryota (role of Tanaka)]

I’m Iwasaki Ryota, and I’ll be playing Tanaka in “Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days”! Tanaka is quick on his feet, very energetic, and a little bit of a silly character, but that’s what makes him soothing, and he’s like a sunshine that brightens up the atmosphere, so I love this character! I’ll do my best to play the beloved Tanaka with energy and care, so please look forward to it!
[Nakajima Sota (FANTASTICS) (Opening Theme Song)]

Following on from the theme song for the film, I am truly happy to be singing the opening theme song for the anime “Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days.” I sang this song with all my heart, hoping to make you feel a sense of joy and pop in all sorts of scenes, whether you’re worried, chuckling, feeling the heart flutter, or feeling courageous! I think the phrase “POP LIFE” is wonderful. I sincerely hope that this song will have the power to blow away all sorts of small doubts and confusion. Please pay attention to the opening theme song “POP LIFE” along with Yano-kun’s clumsiness and cuteness in the anime!

FANTASTICS to Perform Opening; Voice Cast Includes Atsumi Tanezaki and Yasuto Saka
The announcement of both the voice cast and opening theme for Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days builds anticipation for the anime’s tone and emotional depth. Atsumi Tanezaki, known for her versatile and expressive performances, brings a layer of credibility to the project, while Yasuto Saka adds fresh energy. Meanwhile, FANTASTICS—featuring Yusei Yagi, who plays the live-action Yano—performing the opening theme creates a unique synergy between the anime and its live-action adaptation. This crossover could broaden the series’ appeal and strengthen its multimedia presence.
