Drenched in human red and Predator green, “Predator: The Ultimate Battle of the Top” begins streaming exclusively on Disney+ Star starting Friday, June 6.
The “Predator” franchise is getting its first animated adaptation with “Predator: The Ultimate Predator,” set to stream exclusively on Disney+ Star starting June 6. A key visual and intense trailer have also been released, teasing a fierce showdown.
Since its explosive debut with the original Predator (1987), the sci-fi action series has spanned seven films, including crossovers, showcasing brutal battles between humanity and the deadly alien hunters armed with advanced technology. Now, the franchise takes a bold leap into animation for the first time.
Predator: The Ultimate Predator expands the universe across eras and regions, depicting a never-before-seen clash between the Predators and some of the most ruthless warriors in human history. The Predator goes head-to-head with a Viking father seeking revenge alongside his son, a feudal Japanese ninja in a brutal succession battle with his samurai brother, and a WWII fighter pilot investigating a deadly aerial threat.
Each of these warriors is feared in their own time—but are they just prey in the face of a true predator?
The newly released key visual features a Viking shield, a pilot’s dog tag, and a Japanese katana, all stained with red human blood and green Predator blood—symbolizing the carnage to come.
The trailer opens with cinematic tension, showing each warrior preparing for battle. A Predator’s roar slices through the silence—and a samurai is split in two. A Viking elder declares, “It’s time to speak of the monster,” before the trailer erupts into brutal action across land, sea, and air. The chilling line sets the tone: “If we don’t kill, we’ll all be killed.”
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg—Emmy-nominated director of Prey (2022), which earned a 93% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes—this new entry promises to deepen the legacy of the Predator franchise. The production team includes veterans of the series: John Davis, Mark Toberoff, and executive producer Lawrence Gordon.
