Additional cast members have been announced for “Kurebates – The King of the Demon Beasts, the Baby, and the Hero of Corpses,” a TV anime adaptation of the fantasy manga currently being serialized on LINE Manga, including Jun Hashizume, Mamoru Miyano, Yuki Ono, Kenta Miyake, Yuuma Uchida, Yohei Azakami, and Shinba Tsuchiya. In addition, the opening theme song for the series will be “Ruler” sung by artist Mayu Maejima. The second promotional video and new episode visuals have also been unveiled.

The original manga by Iwahara Yuji begins with 13 brave warriors chosen by the king who set out to defeat the Demon King Klebates with a legendary sword, but end up bringing about a terrible crisis that could wipe out all of humanity on the continent of Edsea. In this desperate situation, the only hope left for the world is a child entrusted to the Demon King. Shiraishi Haruka plays Alicia, one of the 13 brave warriors, and the cast also includes Tamura Mutsumi, Nakamura Yuichi, and Aizawa Saya. The cast also includes Taguchi Kiyotaka, who has worked on many special effects works such as the “Ultraman” series, and this is his first time as an anime director.

The newly announced additional cast members are Hashizume as King Hayden, Miyano as Stefan, Ono as Mirlo, Miyake as Holgas, Uchida as Katz, Azagami as Mudo, and Tsuchiya as Minark (details of each character have yet to be announced). The second trailer features the characters played by the additional cast.

The new episode visual shows the king mourning the death of his son in the royal furnace and smashing the high-purity “Manahydrite” made by refining “Magic Ore.” A short story by the original author, Iwahara, has also been released to accompany the visual.

This information was announced at AnimeJapan 2025, which is being held at Tokyo Big Sight.

I was excited to make my debut as a voice actor, but it made me realize the difference between an actor and a voice actor. An actor’s way of living a role is to use all five senses to grasp what is in front of you and “live in the moment,” but as a voice actor, all you have in front of you is a microphone and a moving storyboard. You say the lines that should come out of your own impulse according to the numbers on the storyboard. And the voice is not my own voice, but the character’s voice. Wow! It was really difficult. Voice actors are amazing! They are a craftsman!

When I saw the name “Taguchi Kiyotaka” during the tape audition, I was surprised and thought, “Is there a director with the same name in the anime industry?” and looked it up, but the only hits in the search were “Ultra” directors that I knew. However, when I reread the proposal, it was definitely an anime work. It was here that I was finally shocked to see “That Director Taguchi is making an anime!?” and that’s when I encountered this work. I went to the audition with this feeling of destiny and put my all into it, so I’m truly happy to have met the wonderful character Minark. “Krebates x Anime x Taguchi Kiyotaka”. I can’t wait to see what kind of work will be born!

Krebates was a solitary creature that humans feared it and targeted it for extermination. I wanted to create a theme song that would capture the changes that Krebates experienced after meeting Luna, and to reflect the voice of Mayu Maejima, who has evolved through encounters with various people and songs. I am very happy to have been given the mission of supporting this work. I hope that people will enjoy the song as well as the work.

After the funeral of his son, the King of Heiden immediately retreated to the furnace and began to forge the “Treasures”. The high-purity “Manahydrite” made by refining “Magic Ore” can only be forged with the “hammer” handed down in the royal family. And only the King of Heiden is allowed to possess it.
In other words, only the King can forge the “Treasures”, the ultimate “Magic Sword”.
“It must end with me.” “I cannot put such a heavy responsibility on the newborn baby.”
After forging the 13 “Treasures”, the King emerged from the furnace looking so thin that he looked like a different person.
The baby was born the next day.
