Synopsis
The year is 1840. In a world where people’s minds are in turmoil due to a great famine, demons begin to take on human forms and playfully deceive people. Kadono is a mountain village far from the city of Edo. In this village, brother and sister Jinta and Suzune live. The two were outsiders who came to Kadono for a certain reason when they were young, but they were accepted by everyone and spent their days happily together. In the village, there is a shrine maiden called “Itsukihime”, and as he grows up, Jinta becomes her guardian. Then one day, while in the forest where he went to defeat a demon, he encounters a mysterious demon that speaks of the distant future. Jinta is close to death as the shrine maiden’s guardian, Suzune sends her brother off cheerfully despite worrying about him, and Byakuya is targeted by a demon while fulfilling his duties as the shrine maiden “Itsukihime”. The gears of the three people’s destinies overlap and go mad. A great disaster that will engulf man and demons for a long time will fall upon them, even engulfing the era. From Edo to Heisei. A Japanese-style epic fantasy that depicts the story of a demon who travels through 170 years of time while constantly questioning the meaning of wielding a sword.
